I've recently been collecting really beautiful old vintage brooches and buckles and wanted to use a fair few them on a single build really melding modern contemporary leather work with vintage costume metal work.. When I say a fair few vintage adornments I am talking 10 of the beauties , some of my favorite pieces from my collection adorn this bag , you will never see anything else like this made by another bag designer The front mandala is of a mountain and lake scene intricately sewn together by hand the time in this bag is easily 25 hours plus. The gusset has had just as much consideration as the rest of it with layering leather and again vintage buttons. If I'm going to go with the best antiques I need to use the best leather and of course the best hardware, the hardware is solid brass , including solid copper rivets. The Oculus wing bag Real vintage prosthetic eye all the way from India combined with AA crack and CFS leathers for antique pieces each one telling a story of their own. The glass diamonds on the rear brooch has had its colours changed as I wanted some colours to reflect the eye on the front. There is no small pocket on the inside however have included a key clasp with a hood that protects anything in the bag from coming into contact with your keys. A beautifully unique buckle finishes this bag off this is probably one of my favourite builds so far the eye is realistic and the whole creation looks like it tells a magical story what's even nicer is I didn't use the laser cutter at all, Which shows just how confident I'm getting in my skills.
